	Higher Trevartha Farmhouse was built around 1640 and has belonged to the Sobey family for more than 100 years. If a rural setting is a change for you, waking up at Higher Trevartha will be a special treat, it is a real nature lovers dream ..... You will almost certainly wake to the morning song from the many birds that visit our garden and witness the antics of the wild rabbits as they go about their daily chores...... Night-time brings along other creature delights! The garden is a haven for little black bats and on clear, starlit dry nights, when the Barn Owls fly, you may be lucky enough to hear and see them flying low across the fields from your bedroom window. We are of course, very happy for you to explore the surrounding countryside and to stroll through the fields of our working farm, but please remember to ask where the bull is residing first! If you are interested in carp fishing, we have two carp lakes which you are very welcome to use, or perhaps you would prefer to picnic by them, relax and watch the resident wildlife..... The nearest village, Menheniot, is just a couple of miles away. There is an excellent country pub there or, if you prefer more of a choice, the town of Liskeard is also just a couple of miles away. The south coast of Cornwall, is renowned for its soft, rolling landscape and quaint sleepy fishing villages and towns....Looe and Polperro, two of the larger resorts are just seven miles away and make for the perfect day out. The north coast, has a more dramatic, rugged, rocky landscape, rougher seas and larger waves as well as the busier tourist towns and villages and is around a thirty minute drive to the nearest point.
